1. Tvamagné dyubhistvamāshushuxañistvamadbhyastvamashmanaspari,
Tvam vanébhyastvamoshadhībhyastvam nr’ñām nr’paté jāyasé shuchih.
————————————
1. 1Thou, Agni2, all-irradiating3, art used to bring into life4, by dyus5, for waters6, for stones7, for ‘van’s8, for medicines9, Master of men10, pure11.
—————————————————-
1. This is the second Book/Mandal of R’gved.
It contains 43 Sookts/hymns only.
The first Book/Mandal of R’gved contained 191 Sookts/hymns.
The tenth and last Book/Mandal of R’gved, does also contain 191 Sookts/hymns.
This is the first Sookt/hymn.
It contains 16 Mantrs/Verses.
R’shi is Lord Gr’tsamad Bhārgav Shaunak, formerly Āngiras Shaunhotr.
The deity/Dévtā/divinity/divine subject of the entire Sookt/hymn is ‘Agni’, one who leads to light from darkness, however infinitesimal or however infinite and intense the darkness maybe.
The Chhand/Meter used in the entire Sookt/hymn is ‘Jagtī’.
The Padpāŧh of the first Mantr/Verse, according to Āchārý Sāyañ, is:
Tvam| Agné| dyubhih| tvam| āshushuxañih| tvam| at-bhyah| tvam| ashmanah| pari| tvam| vanébhyah| tvam| oshadhībhyah| tvam| nr’ñām| nr’paté| jāyasé| shuchih.
It is to be noted, however, that it is the Padpāŧh according to Āchārý Sāyañ.
One may have another Padpāŧh, if it can satisfy all the norms for it.
Āchārý Yāsk has differed manywheres from the Shākal Padpāŧh, Āchārý Sāyañ has followed in his commentary of Ved, Védārth Prakāsh.
According to Āchārý Vénkaŧ Mādhav and
R’gvédānukramañī 2|2|1, Vedarshi Lord Gr’tsamad Bhārgav Shaunak, formerly Āngiras Shaunhotr, has seen the entire second book/Mandal of R’gved.
He confirmed that Ādivedarshi Lord Agni has neither conceived nor written this entire second book/Mandal of R’gved, by his own imagination.
He has really seen it.
He, Vedarshi Lord Gr’tsamad Bhārgav Shaunak, formerly Āngiras Shaunhotr, has seen the entire second book/Mandal of R’gved, at the same time when Ādivedarshi Lord Agni has seen it.
Two persons can’t imagine the same verses/ Mantrs, absolutely identical, even in meditation, until they are not published by Eīshān Param Brahm Parmātmā Himself.
2. You have to lead to light.
You can’t run away from this duty of your very existence.
If you run away from it, you are not Agni.
It does not make any difference what the circumstances are.
You have to face the entire circumstances for it, whatsoever they are.
Never forget
‘I have given the land to ārý/the better.’
Ved: 1RV|4|26|2
You are not only to consume the land given to you if you claim to be an ārý/the better. You have to make it inhabitable for the entire humanity too.
3. ‘āshushuxañih’.
This is the translation of H. H. Wilson.
R. T. H. Griffith has translated it ‘shining in thy glory.’
He has written:
‘The hymns of this Book, with the few exceptions that will be noted, are ascribed to the R’shi Gr’tsamad. As Book 1, is called the Book of Shatarshins that is of the seers of a hundred or large indefinite number of R’shis or Seers, so this Book is commonly called the Gr’tsamad Mandal or Book of Gr’tsamad.’
‘āshushuxañih’.
All irradiating, shining in thy glory, means by following/obeying our orders in Ved, you are so full of glory eventually that it radiates from all over your own body.
Your very presence, your very existence can do wonders.
The thoughts, you have, are too intense to be faced by the opponents.
They have to surrender to them eventually whether they like them or not.
Trust to the power of meditation, even if, foolishly, you
don’t trust Our very existence.
