Wahābism: Al Jihad fil Islam fee sabeelillah

Waqaloo lan yadkhula aljannata illa man kana hoodan aw nasara tilka amaniyyuhum qul hatoo burhanakum in kuntum sadiqeen.’

‘And they say: None entereth paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian. These are their own desires. Say: Bring your proof (of what ye state) if ye are truthful.’

112: Bala man aslama wajhahu lillahi wahuwa muhsinun falahu ajruhu AAinda rabbihi wala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoon.’

‘Nay, but whosoever surrendereth his purpose to Allah while doing good, his reward is with his Lord; and there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve.’

Al Qur’an Al Majeed 2 :Al Baqarah: 111-112.

Standing there in the cold office, at this ungodly hour, no longer night, not yet day, Al Zubédā Al Wahāb felt frightened and nervous.

Saudi women face severe discrimination in many aspects of their lives, including education, employment, and the justice system and are clearly regarded as inferior to men. Although they make up 70% of those enrolled in universities, women make up just 5% of the workforce in Saudi Arabia,[4] the lowest proportion in the world.

The treatment of women has been referred to as “gender apartheid.”[5][6][7]

Implementation of a government resolution supporting expanded employment opportunities for women met resistance from within the labor ministry,[8] from the religious police,[9] and from the male citizenry.[10]

These institutions and individuals generally claim that according to Shariat a woman’s place is in the home caring for her husband and family.

“Zubédā!” Safdar again addressed her.

“You are wasting your time, Safdar! I can’t marry you, I’ve said.”
