Udyānam té Purush nāvayānam jīvātum té daxtātim kr’ñomi,

Ā hī rohémamamr’tam sukham rathamath jirvirvidathamā vadāsi.

—————————————————————————–

1Up going means, thine2, not down going3, man4, length of life5, ability6, I make for thee7.

Come on8; do ascend this immortal bliss chariot9. Then thou10, in advanced age11, speak properly12 to the council13.

1. R’shi: Brhamā

Devtā/Divine Subject: Āyu, Life

Chhand/Meter: Prastār Pankti

2. Udyānam té.

The word ‘Yānam’ is used in original text.

It is derived from the root ‘Yā prāpañé gatau’ second Gañ: Adādi Gañ. Adhikarañé lyuŧ.

In the Kāshkr’tsn Dhātupāŧh too, the root is classified, with the same meaning, in 16th place.

It is generally used for ‘path’, the ‘way’.

But the original word ‘Yān’, in Vedic Sanskr’t, is not confined to path or way.

Actually, it does mean ‘means’, if the root is taken with its full meaning.

The path or way, is interpreted taking ‘Yā gatau’ into consideration.

Yet, the root is far wider in the sense.

It says ‘Yā prāpañé’ too.

Meaning, the root ‘Yā’ is used in attaining something too.

Thus comes the meaning ‘means’, into picture, taken here.

It should never be forgotten, ignored or abandoned voluntarily, deliberately, that Ved claims its revelation prior to the creation of entire humankind.

It says,

Védāhamétam Purusham mahāntamāditývarñam tamasah parastāt.

Tamév viditvāti mr’tyuméti nānyah panthā vidyaté’yanāý.’

‘I KNOW this man, the END of greatness, to be chosen/having color LIKE SUN,BEYOND THE REACH OF DARKNESS.
KNOWING ONLY HIM, one crosses death.
There isn’t another way to live the life.’

—Ved: 2 Yajurved: 31|18

This man was projected with Ved in his knowledge, already/sarvagýprāý.

9. ‘IMMORTAL BLISS CHARIOT’
AMR’TAM SUKHAM RATHAM
Ā hi roh’ ‘Do ascend properly’
All these words are important if we want to understand, perfectly, of this immortal chariot.
What is this immortal chariot?

Lord Ram tells it to Vibhīshañ, when:

‘Rāvañ rathī virath Raghuvīrā,

Dékhi Vibhīshañ bhayau adhīrā.’

‘Rāvañ on the chariot, brave in the clan of Raghu, Lord Ram, without chariot, seeing, Vibhīshañ became impatient.’

—Shrī Rācharit Mānas: 6 Lankā Kānd| 79| 1.

It was not only Vibhīshañ; everyone would be equally impatient, as Vibhīshañ, if s/he finds him/her self in the same condition.

Vibhīshañ was not a man to be impatient easily.

He was the only man, in the household of Rāvañ who supported justice against shameless selfishness and tyranny.

He was devoted to the humanity leading to divinity, to the extent, that he left his own elder brother, Rāvañ, too for it.
