RELIGIOUS DEMOCRACY in Hinduism: Ekam sadvipra bahudhaa vadanti

RELIGIOUS DEMOCRACY in Hinduism:

Ekam sadvipra bahudhaa vadanti

DSM Satyarthi

It’s often wondered that the Hindus practice idolatry, while at the same time they practice the strict monotheism, too.
What the persons these fools Hindus are.
A religion must be specific.
If idolatry is right, the Ved Mantr that ‘N’ Tasy’ pratimaa asti‘ is wrong.
If the Ved Mantr’N’ Tasy’ pratimaa asti‘ is right, the idolatry practiced widely in Hindus, is absolutely wrong.
Both cannot be correct.
Yes! It’s right.
Both cannot be correct, and ARE NOT.
The mistake in the analysis is that you are intermingling THEORY and PRACTICE together.
Idolatry is a PRACTICE among Hindus, not the PRINCIPLE.
N’ Tasy’ pratimaa asti Yasy’ naam Mahadyashah”He doesn’t have any idol Who has a name Great Revered One'(Ved 2:Yajurved) is the Principle.
Every science and every philosophy has its two components:
Theory and Practice.
Science or Philosophy can tell what’s right in it’s view, but it CANNOT CONTROL THE PRACTICES.
Ved does not advocate idolatry, but it cannot stop its followers to practice something it doesn’t approve.
It does not impose its rulings on its followers, as strictly, as the other religions do.
It says:
‘Indram mitram varun’amagnimaahuratho divyah s’ suparn’o garutmaan,
Ekam sadvipra bahudhaa vadantyagnim yamam maatarishvaanamaahuh.’

They call Him Indr, Mitr; Agni–Divine is He Suparn’, Garutmaan.

The noble persons with wisdom call One Existence in many ways. They call Agni, Yam, Maatarishvan.’
Ved1R’gved/1/164/46.

Ved does not instruct its followers to fight on names.
It focuses on attributes, NOT ON NAMES.
That’s why it was possible for Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, to say:
‘Eishvar Allah tero naam.
sabko sanmati de Bhagvaan.’

Hinduism preaches RELIGIOUS DEMOCRACY, in this way.
