Does religion provide false security?

Does religion provide false

security?

DSM Satyarthi

Some of my ultramodern readers have objected that I almost always try to side with religion even in these enlightened days of science and rationalism.

Yes, I do agree with them.

I almost always try to side with religion even in these enlightened days of science and rationalism.

Yet, I never sided with any particular religion.

In my firm opinion the humankind needs religion for its survival itself.

It’s better to have even a somewhat distorted religion, if someone is not capable to choose an optimum religion for him/her self.

It’s no longer a philosophical idea now.

The humankind has already faced an anti religion, religion less, communist government on numerous countries.

It was led by then Soviet Union.

What happened?

Where is that Soviet Union now?

Could it ever provide the humankind the peace and progress it promised when it was being fought for?

I request my learned readers once again to go through the entire blood-spattered history of Bolshevik Revolution.

How many persons were killed for it?

And what did we get in return?

A seventy two years propaganda that the Soviet Union will do this and that and that for humanity.

Anything else?

No.

Only promises and promises and promises.

They were dream merchants only.

Nothing more.

And even it too lasted seventy two years only.

What is this negligible period in the long history of humankind?

And even in that shortest period of prevalence of no religion, what did the Soviet Union provide to us?

A continuous cold war, a nonstop political struggle between the two classes of humankind that can never be brought to supersede the other forever.

We faced a never ending chain of financial problems.

Did we not?

In all the communist countries the production had come down very much.

And eventually, ultimately, the humankind had to get rid of the anti religion governments.

Isn’t this one experiment enough?

Do you want to repeat it once more?

Is one bitter lesson not enough for us?

I don’t think so.

I never vote to repeat it.

It did  cost even numerous precious human lives too.
